How Do We Choose the hotels and resorts in this list?
Our list includes top-quality ski Resorts with panoramic views and heated indoor-outdoor pools. Some have easy access to authentic experiences like the Wine country in Argentina, the Glaciers national park, and the Magellanic penguins in Argentinian Patagonia. We also include ranches or estancias with cattle production, horseback riding, and many others.
I think it’s important to say that our 2023 List of the best resorts in Argentina is based on Maria’s and myself’s personal preferences and not on a ranking ( or an Affiliate program. We or someone from our team have personally visited them! )
One of the things we love most about our work is personally visiting the stunning resorts in Argentina and South America and sharing this moment with our family ❤️. Photo N1 is Me ( Clara) and my daughter ( Ines) in LLao Llao Resort. Photo N2 is me in Ushuaia ( Celebrating my 3rd wedding anniversary) and photo N3 is Maria with her daughter Emilia, visiting Estancia Nibepo Aike in Patagonia.
This list is based on our personal experience and thanks to the feedback we have received from travelers from around the world, who have kindly shared their travel experiences in Argentina with us.
If you think we have missed something, just let us know! 😉

Some Q&A for you!
This guide is reaching an end… but before that, I’d like to answer some last questions … these are things you might be thinking of… 🤷
👉 Ski Resorts in Argentina look fantastic … but, is there good skiing in Argentina?
Definitely YES! Not all is about the wine, the Tango, the football, or the Gaucho! If you enjoy skiing, Argentina is known to be one of the best ski destinations in the world.
Argentina’s most developed and modern ski resort is Cerro Catedral in San Carlos de Bariloche, Patagonia. However, you can also ski in Tierra del Fuego, right at the end of the world in Cerro Castor, Ushuaia. There are other well-known ski resorts, such as Cerro Chapelco, Las Lenas in Mendoza, and the boutique ski resort of Cerro Bayo.
Just remember that the Winter season in Argentina runs from the end of June to Mid September. The ski season in Argentina is very busy, so plan your stay months (6-8 months at least).
👉Which are the best neighborhoods to stay in in Buenos Aires?
Our favorite areas in Buenos Aires are Recoleta and Palermo. The charming Recoleta is close to parks, the famous Recoleta Cemetery, and many restaurants and bars. Palermo is one of the city’s nicest parts, with many beautiful parks, shops, and fantastic restaurants. Puerto Madero is another excellent option to explore Buenos Aires; more modern and tucked away.
👉Which luxury resorts in Argentina have rooms with great views?
Most of the hotels and lodges we select are because of their fantastic panoramic views. Places like Arakur and Cauquenes overlooking the Beagle Channel, Llao Llao facing the immense blue waters of Nahuel Huapi … or waking up to feel the power of the Iguazu Falls at the Gran Melia Resort… are experiences you will never forget in your life.
I recommend booking with a lot in anticipation (6/8 months in advance), and don’t forget to ask for a room with a view – not all rooms have those incredible views you are looking for!
👉 I’m planning a honeymoon in Argentina…Which are romantic resorts for honeymoons?
OHH, I love this question! Romantic luxury hotels are my favorites! Some hidden gems like Eolo in Calafate, Aguas Arriba in Chalten, the original Cavas Wine Lodge, and possibly Algodon in Buenos Aires are among my favorite options for honeymooners or – those like me – who are celebrating anniversaries!
👉What is an “estancia” in Argentina?
This is a good one! In Argentina, we keep talking about Estancias as if people knew what we’re talking about! Estancia is the word used to describe a Farm or a Ranch. Like Los Potreros or La Bamba mentioned before, these are traditional working family ranches in the countryside; sometimes, they are actively working cattle ranches. If you are looking for authentic horseback riding, gauchos, and polo, an estancia is the suitable accommodation for you when visiting Argentina.
